Cupid's Undie Run

Cupid's Undie Run

The first thing to say about Cupid’s Undie Run is it is NOT a 5k. Cupid’s Undie Run is actually a 1.5 mile run rather than the 3.1 miles in a 5k.

The cupid run takes place in 38 cities in February - Valentines weekend. Dress code is your bedroom's best, and usually most participants are wearing red. Pictures and videos have shown people running in everything from pajamas, to boxers to bras and underwear and even speedos and robes. The race does ask that participants keep it PG-13 though and do not show up in pasties, thongs or banana hammocks.

While the Cupid Run is not a 5k the money you pay to be involved does go to an incredible cause. Money from the Cupid Run goes to Children's Tumor Foundation also known as CTF. CTF is the largest non-profit organization that's main focus is to eliminate neurofibromatosis. Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow around the nervous system which can result in chronic pain, deafness and blindness. Since the Cupid Run's start in 2010 the race has raised roughly $5 million dollars for the cause.

Below is the registration timeline for Raleigh, NC - where I am at. Most cities I checked all have the same timeline but the prices may vary. Majority were the same as below but some had a $5 difference.

Some FAQs*This is NOT an event for children. All runners must be 21 years and older and bring an ID as proof. This is because alcohol is being served at the event. But that is okay do you really want your son or daughter seeing people running in their underwear?

*After to pay and register for this event there are NO REFUNDS if by chance you are unable to
participate the day of the race you can transfer your registration to someone else.

* Donations are tax deductible

*The run goes on sun or rain or snow. It takes place the middle of February so be prepared. You are running in your underwear it will probably be cold

*Family and friends that are NOT racing will not be able to enter the course but they are allowed to take pictures and cheer you on from the sidelines.

*Dogs are allowed to run with you but will not be permitted in the venue where drinks are being served

*In most cities the event starts at noon and the race begins at 2pm but certain cities may vary and it will be best to check The Cupid’s Undie Run facebook or website.

*Unlike the 5ks, The Cupid Undie Run does not have a packet pick up. There is no bib. When you check in on the day of the race you will receive a red draw string bag with goodies inside as a gift and a wrist band.

*As an incentive to get more people to raise money for the cause they offer cupid cash. When you get 3 friend to register using the URL you provide them you will receive $10 cupid cash which can then be used at the Cupid Undie Run store. There is no limit on how many people you can recruit.
