Sweat Fest Sunday 11/30

Happy Sweat Fest Sunday...........how many of you need this after Thanksgiving? Did you eat a lot of great food? I made mashed potatoes, stuffing and tofurkey - complete carb overload.

I should warn you all, I am a Christmas fanatic. I absolutely love it. Starting tomorrow I will probably pull out every Christmas movie I own and start a marathon as soon as school lets out.

The reason I am telling you this is because one of the videos I am going to post is a HIIT Santa workout....you'll see below. The other is a dance video - not sure how many of you would actually be interested in learning it but I promise if you want to look at good at the choreographers then you're going to have to do the tutorial again and again and again. It will definitely be a workout.

This is the finished product - Tutorial is posted below

Step by Step Tutorial

This video here is called the Santa Claus workout and I won't lie I mainly posted it because it is Christmas related. For people new to working out it isn't all that realistic as it calls for some equipment. Mainly dumbells, rope, a duffle bag and 50lbs of sand. If you have all that go at it, or if you're like me you can improvise and  just put your pudgy cats in a bag and drag them around (not really - I don't advocate animal abuse)

Sweat fest Sunday!

Nearly Monday........sorry for the late/last minute post. I am swamped with homework. For today's sweat fest i am going to post two videos that are relatively similar. An easy version and a more advance version.

Most people that workout go running, do zumba or maybe even walk but did you know one of the best exercises you can do is something you used to do as a kid? Jump rope.

FromShape Magazine:
Jumping rope burns more than 10 calories a minute while strengthening your legs, butt, shoulders, and arms. And it doesn't take long to reap major rewards. You can burn more than 200 calories in two, 10-minute sessions each day (that's 1,000 calories a week)!

DO NOT forget this actually depends on how much you’re pushing yourself throughout the workout, and how much fat you have to lose. The more you have to lose the more calories you actually burn. So give or take that’s 1,000 calories a week but it could be more especially if you combine it with healthy eating.

Without anymore talk this video here is a beginners jump rope routine.

If the workout above was a piece of cake.......give this one a go. She talks a bit but the actual workout begins around the 2:45 mark. ENJOY.
