Here is an excerpt from one article when it comes to these water enhancers:
Finally, many of these drink mixers are loaded with fake, chemical additives, including artificial colors, preservatives, and artificial sweeteners (read last week’s blog for more information on the downsides of artificial sweeteners). Check out the lengthy ingredient list for one grape-flavored water enhancer:
Water, Citric Acid, Salt, Propylene Glycol, Potassium Phosphate, Malic Acid, Contains Less than 2% of Niacinamide, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Natural Flavor, Sucralose and Acesulfame Potassium (Sweeteners), Potassium Citrate, Polysorbate 60, Red 40, Blue 1, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative)
That’s almost 20 ingredients crammed into one tiny little bottle! You can read the rest of the article at http://www.everydayhealth.com/columns/johannah-sakimura-nutrition-sleuth/water-enhancers-dont-live-up-to-name/
So here is my suggestion......why not put fruit in your water? It is a natural sweetener and doesn't have the crap mentioned above. Have you all heard of an infuser water bottle? Well it looks like this:
You simple slice up some fresh fruit or veggies, I am not saying like spinach or anything, but cucumbers can work. You slice fresh fruit or veggies and stick it into the infuser basket, close the basket and put into your water bottle with fresh, cool water and throughout the day the natural flavors and juice from your fruit will seep into the water giving you a bit of flavor without unhealthy additives polluting your body.
I have a pitcher infuser and I love it! I like to put cucumber and mint in mine.
